System Floors For Datacenters

In a datacenter, the raised floor is more than a walkway. The space below the floor, the plenum, carries cold air to the server racks and houses power cables, data cabling and pipework. In heavy-duty rooms, the floor also has to carry the weight of full racks, UPS systems, batteries and cooling units.

For these rooms, Anomalie supplies system floors: panels on pedestals with steel profiles in between, which spread the weight over more support points. This allows the floor to carry a surface load of up to 50 kN. We tailor the structure to the load, the cooling and the layout of the room. For server cabinets, UPS systems and other equipment, we make and install custom steel frames, so the weight goes straight to the subfloor.

Because a datacenter cannot go offline, we specialise in working in live environments: replacing panels, creating cut-outs and modifying the floor while the servers keep running.

Key features

Features And Details

Steel Support Structure

Steel profiles between the pedestals spread the weight. The floor carries a surface load of up to 50 kN, even under heavy racks, UPS systems and batteries.

Airflow & Cooling

Perforated ventilation panels direct cold air exactly to the server racks. We match the plenum height to the required air capacity.

Cable Management

A plenum height of 25 to 2,000 mm for power, data, lightning protection and pipework. Removable panels give direct access, without demolition.

ESD Version

Anti-static panels prevent electrostatic discharge, which can damage sensitive equipment.

Fire Safety

Panels with a fire classification from F30 (REI30) to F60 (REI60), matched to the requirements of your building.

Ramps And Stairs

For moving racks and equipment, we build custom ramps and stairs that connect seamlessly to the floor.

Repairs And Modifications

A datacenter is always changing. We modify existing floors, including those from other brands: moving perforated panels for cooling, making new cut-outs, replacing panels and strengthening the floor for heavier racks.

We do this in a live environment, without your servers going down.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about datacenter floors

When does a datacenter need a system floor?

When loads are heavy, for example in UPS rooms and battery rooms, or under full racks and large cooling units. For lighter data halls, a computer floor is often sufficient. We advise on the basis of load, grid and installations.

How much can a system floor carry?

Thanks to the steel profiles between the pedestals, a system floor carries a surface load of up to 50 kN. Under heavy equipment, we can install additional steel frames on request.

Can ramps be installed?

Yes. For the AMS1 datacenter we supplied the system floor including ramps. View our stairs and ramps.

Can a system floor be modified while the datacenter is in operation?

Yes. We create cut-outs, replace panels and strengthen the structure while operations continue. Read more about repairs and modifications.
